Active Listening
You may be familiar with the famous line, “What we have here is a failure to communicate.” Communication lies at the root of most of our interpersonal problems. Communication is also the key to improving your relationships in a meaningful way that brings satisfaction, fulfillment, and closeness.
Do you sometimes feel there is an ever-widening ‘communication gap’ between you and your child and/or partner? That gap can begin to narrow by improving your communication skills by learning how to Actively Listen.’ Active listening is a key piece to effective and successful communication.
In this course you will learn practical and specific skills about how to listen better: skills such as projecting and interpreting body language, I-Statements, verbal prompting, restatement and clarification. Once mastered, these skills will help you communicate more effectively with your children, your partner, and everyone with whom you communicate.
